"Un Mundo Raro" (A strange world) is a children´s book written by María José Ferrada Lefenda commissioned by the publishing house Kalandraka for their "Siete Leguas" collection.
The book portrays, in poetic prose, the life of six children with extraordinary and surprising abilities.
Given the richness in images and metaphors in the text, the illustrations are sober and avoid details. The book is made in collage. Different types of paper are used as a symbol for each child´s personality. The children´s silhouettes are realistic and proportioned and always appear in everyday attitudes contrary to the content of the text, in an attempt to suggest that these six extraordinary kids are no more extraordinary than any other boy or girl.
