"Motion Columns" is a parody-experiment based on "Columns" ,a classic match-3 game.
Contrary to the rest of this kind of games "Motion Columns" don´t ask the player to connect three gems of the same colour but three gems with the same movement pattern. The result is a game that requires a great deal of concentration and that challenges the limits of human perception.
The game is an experiment to find out how efficient is the human brain at isolating different movement patterns. The outcome is a game that is easier to play if you don´t look directly to the gems as, the way the human eye is structured, the borders of the retina are more sensible to movement than the centre.
The visual style is made from classic engravings that evoke the ornamental feel this kind of games usually have.
